Coffee Cupping with Portola Coffee Roastmaster Jeff Duggan
Portola Handcrafted Coffee Roasters, will be offering bi-monthly “Coffee Cupping” sessions that are open to the public. They will be held bi-monthly from 2:00– 3:30 PM. Coffee cupping is analogous to wine tasting and is the best way to discover coffee flavor and what makes one coffee unique from another. During these cuppings, Jeff Duggan, the roastmaster from Portola Handcrafted Coffee Roasters, will guide participants on a culinary tour around the world in an informal, hands-on tasting and learning experience. Jeff will be discussing in detail a variety of subjects each week such as palate taste development, coffee growing, harvesting, and processing, as well as engaging in a finite analysis of coffee taste and aroma and everything that plays a role in producing world-class coffee. This will be followed by a fun and interactive taste and comparison session highlighting different coffees currently offered by Portola. Best yet, it is FREE! Whether you are a simple coffee drinker who just likes what tastes great, or the quintessential aficionado interested in learning about the subtle flavor nuances and what environmental or chemical factors contribute to them, these unique cuppings should not be missed.
